when you see these fucking lies in my head, ask me, when does it end?

Bring in the smoke, as the doors hiss open.
A landscape close to my own, but it feels so foreign.
Here, we're just a part of something bigger. I'm just a gear.
My hope is shrinking as quick as my vision.
While my eyes gaze upon a lucid waterfall.
The flora, but mostly the fauna caught my untamed eye.
I've never seen such a place, thoughts were non-existent.
I was now one with this area, but then I awoke.
My parachute opened, as the treeline came into view.
The dying sun was fighting through the branches,
but the heart of the evergreen was my destination.
The forest floor came into view, quicker than I thought.

I landed in what seemed like a childhood nightmare.
I'm losing structure of perception, all sounds became one.
Dead stars fall around me; this visual aura, it surrounds me.
I gain comfort, and enter the brightest world I've seen.
Colors erupt: blue, black, red, green.
I'm at the peak.
The edge is so near; danger close, no fear.
The wind feels intense, muscles lose reliability.

This town has taken all my hopes, it's raped all my dreams.
Can I have the attention of the congregation?
We were gathered here to celebrate, a life and times of the people who once held the moral bounds, keeping us alive.
